My husband and I are very fortunate to live in a place
that attracts not only national and international stars, but most importantly
our dearest friends. We enjoy tremendously their visits and our wine tasting
tours. Thank you again for coming!
This was Ferrari-Carano winery in the afternoon. We went
our way through the sunshine and the fresh air, wondering through the gardens.
It was delightful to see the green lands and flowers before us. It was one of
those lovely, but irregular gardens, where you go left and right, up and down,
stepping out of one little charming place into another. We were enchanted with
the old trees filtering light onto the flowers and bubbling ponds.
For that bright afternoon the main house welcomed us with
a rush of feeling that was almost overwhelming. The sunlight dripped over the
house like golden gauzy curtain, and the shadows here and there only increased
the impression of the theater. The theater of wines. Don and Rhonda Carano have perfected the art
of creating the finest gardens and the finest wines, which requires great skill
and passion. But you don't have to be a professional to appreciate the view and
delicious wines :)
My favorites from the wine list are 2013 Sauvingnon
Blanc, Sonoma County, 2011 Pinot Noir, Green Valley, and Zinfandel dessert wine
Baci, which infused with natural dark chocolate flavor.
